Located just five kilometres from the iconic town of Prince Albert, the O for Olive farm stretches out over 668 hectares of beautiful Karoo countryside at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains.
Its 17-hectare drip-fed olive orchards are home to more than 3000 mature trees of optimum fruit-bearing age. The farm has its own processing plant, complete with brining room and press. Extra virgin olive oil and a range of olive products are currently sold under the O for Olive brand, supplying select retailers, restaurants and hotels in South Africa and Zimbabwe.
The fully equipped farm also has 350-400 sheep, generating additional income from wool and meat (including award-winning lamb), along with 50 hectares of irrigated lucerne fields.
Rounding things out is the popular Cafe O restaurant and shop, selling the farm's products as well as offering lunches, teas and tasting sessions. The patio and outdoor area, with manicured gardens and water features, capitalises on the spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Besides being a major attraction for tourists of the area, Cafe O is the ideal setting for wedding receptions and other special functions.
